The assessment will be done in two stages: dynamic and static.

Dynamic

Owners will be required to walk and trot their animal in a straight line to allow Frances to assess their movement. Next the animal will be assessed on a circle as this can alter an animals movement and highlight issues not seen on a straight line. (If the animal is on strict box/cage rest dynamic assessment will not be done). Where possible dogs will be assessed while walking around during the appointment to reduce owner movement effect,

Static

This is carried out when the animal is standing still and will consist of Frances assessing conformation and palpating (feeling) the animal for muscle asymmetries, tension or pain response.
